Eva Hesse, born in Hamburg in 1936, was a Jewish refugee who fought her way to the top of the U.S. art scene and changed art history until her untimely death in 1970 at the age of 34 in 1970. The documentary film about the life, work and impact of Eva Hesse was made on the occasion of the exhibition "Eva Hesse - One More than One" at the Hamburger Kunsthalle in 2013. The exhibition provided a fitting setting to be able to document many of her complex works on film for the first time. Eva Hesse is an artist who has only received greater attention and enthusiasm for her work in recent years, even in the art world in Europe. The documentary EVA HESSE is an extraordinary artist biography, a real discovery for art-interested moviegoers.
